Berita / Perwira Connect CMS – overview for agents

Audience: Call Center & Support Agents Category: Berita / CMS
Version: 1.0 Last updated: 7 May 2026

Summary

This article gives a simple overview of Perwira Connect CMS (Berita): what it is, who uses it, and the main modules (Dashboard, Message from the Minister, Messages, Focused News, User Management, My Profile). Use it when callers ask about “news in the app”, CMS roles, or content publishing responsibilities.

When to use this article

  • User asks how official news and messages get into the PERWIRA app.
  • User asks who can post “Message from the Minister” or department news.
  • User asks about CMS login roles (Super Admin, UKS Admin, Creators, etc.).
  • Internal support staff need a quick summary of how the Berita CMS works.

1. What is Perwira Connect CMS?

  • A web‑based content management system used by admins and content creators to manage official news and announcements in the PERWIRA app.
  • Provides modules for: Dashboard, Message from the Minister, department Messages, Focused News, User Management, and My Profile.
  • Access is role‑based (Super Admin, UKS Admin, other Admins/Creators) – end users never log into the CMS; they only see content in the PERWIRA app.

2. Key CMS roles (high level)

Exact permissions are defined in the role matrix, but in simple terms:

  • Super Admin: full access – dashboard, all content areas, User Management, Approved Users.
  • UKS Admin: dashboard + messaging + Focused News; no user management.
  • Department Admins (PAT, Deputy Minister, Secretary General, PTD, PTL, PTU, Veteran): dashboard + messages + Focused News for their department.
  • Creators: can create/edit content for their assigned department (Messages, Focused News), but cannot manage roles or approve users.

3. Message from the Minister (top‑level announcements)

  • Used for high‑priority messages from the Minister’s office shown prominently in the app.
  • Only certain roles (Super Admin, UKS Admin, UKS Creator) can create/edit assets in this section.
  • Assets can be articles or videos with:
    • Title, speaker name, publication date range
    • Category (News / Announcement), priority (High/Default/Low)
    • Summary, rich‑text content, media + thumbnail
  • Content can be draft, published, archived, or deleted via the CMS.

4. Messages – department news & announcements

  • Each department (e.g. MAF, Deputy Minister, Secretary General, Army, Navy, Air Force, Veterans) has its own Messages area.
  • Admins/Creators for a department can upload content visible only for that department’s channel in the app.
  • Each asset has audience selection: Armed Personnel, Families, Veterans, MINDEF Civilians – this controls who sees what in the app.
  • Supports filters (priority, status, date) and actions (view, edit, archive, delete).

5. Focused News – curated highlights

  • Used to highlight key stories across departments in a central Focused News section in the app.
  • Admins/Creators can:
    • Search, filter and sort articles
    • Add new articles (title, category, priority, summary, content, media, thumbnail, publication start/end dates)
    • Publish, archive or delete articles

6. User Management (Super Admins)

  • Allows Super Admins to view and process PERWIRA app onboarding applications inside the CMS (not end‑user accounts in the wallet).
  • Shows list of applicants with MYKAD, name, phone, category, registration date, and status (Pending, Accepted, Rejected, Resubmission).
  • Actions on a user application:
    • Approve – move to Approved Users list
    • Reject – with reason (ID, biometrics, branch, type)
    • Mark for resubmission – ask user to correct information and resubmit

7. What agents should say (when asked about Berita/CMS)

“Who posts the news in the app?”

“The news and announcements you see in the PERWIRA app are posted through our internal Perwira Connect CMS. Different departments and the Minister’s office have their own admin and creator accounts to publish updates.”

“Can I get access to the CMS?” (from normal user)

“The CMS is only for internal admins and content owners. As an end user, you can view the news in the PERWIRA app but you won’t log into the CMS itself.”

8. System actions (for internal support teams)

  • Check which role a CMS user has if they report missing menus or access.
  • Verify whether an article is Draft, Published, Archived or Deleted when someone says “I can’t see my news in the app”.
  • Confirm publication dates and priority settings for Focused News if an item does not appear as expected.
